Ingredients
Fresh sage leaves
Flour
Ice water
Salt
Honey
Canola oil (for frying)
Preparation
This recipe is from a friend in Italy and there are no exact measurements. Wash sage leaves and leave to dry completely before proceeding. Mix flour and ice water in a bowl to a thin consistency that coats a spoon. Add about a quarter inch of canola oil to frying pan and heat. Dip each sage leaf in flour and water mixture and place in hot oil. Fry until slightly browned on one side then flip and do the same for the other side. Take out of oil and drain on paper towels and sprinkle with salt. Serve warm and drizzled with honey.
